14 Revolved Triangle Pose or Parivrrta Trikonasana

1 Stand in Tadasana (Mountain Pose) with your feet together. Establish a smooth flowing breath and wait for the inner cue to begin. When you are ready, breathe in deeply. As you exhale, bring your palms together in namaste position in front of your chest.

2 As you inhale, sweep your arms outward until they are horizontal and step your left foot to the left. Have your feet one leg’s length apart and check that your heels are on the same line.

3 Exhale as you turn your feet and body to the right. Pivot on your heels, turning the left foot inward to a forty-five-degree angle and the right foot outward to a ninety-degree angle. Check that your heels are on the same line, then turn your hips and chest to face the right leg and foot. Your arms are still extending out to the sides. Take a breath.

4 Exhale as you fold forward. Place your left hand on the floor on the outside edge of the right foot and bring the right arm up until it is vertical (photo 45). Nestle the left wrist in snugly against your ankle, and conform the outer edge of your hand to the outer edge of your foot. If you cannot be on your palm, be on the ball of your hand or fingertips. This is the pose.
